Our story

Named for
the ones
we love

Nolstar is more than a studio name — it's a family constellation. The name was inspired by our son Nolan, and the "star" honours our two dogs, Lunette and Stellie.

Lunette means "little moon" in French. Stellie carries the light of "stellar." Together, they form the three celestial elements in our mark — a moon, a bright star, and the golden sparkle at the centre of it all.

We build apps the same way — with the same intention and care we'd put into anything made for the people we love most.

Nolan
The name
The "Nol" in Nolstar comes from our son. His energy and curiosity are baked into every line of code we ship.
Lunette
The moon dog
Lunette — "little moon" in French. She's the quiet glow, the crescent shape in our mark, and proof that good things come in small packages.
Stellie
The star dog
Stellie's name lives in "stellar." She is the bright companion star in our mark — always present, never overshadowed.
